Simon Cowell and Lauren Silverman’s relationship started on a rather scandalous note. The two met in 2004 on a vacation in Barbados for the first time. However, Lauren was at that time married to Simon’s friend Andrew Silverman. The two became friends long before they started dating and rumours regarding their relationship began circulating in the media in 2013.

According to Hello Magazine, the two started dating sometime in 2012 while Lauren was still married to Andrew. In July 2023, news broke that the BGT’s highest-paid judge and Lauren are expecting their first child together. Andrew legally filed for a divorce and Simon was cited as a ‘co-respondent’ in the court papers for adultery. The star then went on to say he wasn’t ‘proud of or wanted’ his relationship with Lauren to start on this note and never intended to hurt anyone.
Soon after Lauren’s divorce was finalised, the music mogul took her out on a vacation, reported People Magazine. Talking about his South of France vacation, a source close to Simon said:
He is very pleased that her divorce is finalised, and he is excited about spending time with Lauren.
He wants to make sure that she and the baby are doing okay. He is getting more and more excited about the baby.
In 2014, Simon and Lauren welcomed their son Eric into the world and in 2015, Simon expressed his interest to have another child with Lauren. Simon is also a stepfather to Luaren’s son from her previous marriage, Adam.

Simon Cowell proposes to Lauren Silverman
After years of being together and allegedly not wanting to get married, Simon proposed to his lady love in December 2021. The 63-year-old proposed to her with his son Eric’s help in Barbados on Christmas Eve. Simon later admitted that Eric ‘coached’ him and planned the entire proposal with him. The very private event is understood to have only been celebrated with family including Eric and Adam.
Britain’s Got Talent’sAmanda Holden was stunned to know Simon is getting married. She said:
Simon said he would never get married, and obviously, Lauren has been by his side, and you know they've been through so much together.
I think she's the one, but I don't know if she ever thought he would put a ring on it.

Simon Cowell and Laurence Silverman's wedding date is a mystery
The couple were rumoured to be getting married in mid-2022, however, it appears that the two are still prepping for their big day. Well, at least Simon is - as he is his own wedding planner. The talent show judge revealed his wedding date would be a ‘surprise’ for everyone including Lauren, confirmed People Magazine. Simon said:
No one knows when it's going to be — that'll be a surprise, even for Lauren.
This comes after, he insisted he wants to do the planning so that things don’t get ‘out of control.’ He said:
I don't want to have one of these ghastly wedding planners and all the arguments that happen, and who you do invite and who you don't invite. The whole thing just seems like too much hassle.
