Didn’t want to C.U.
However, C.U still didn’t make it to the cut. This comes as the term is slang for a four-letter expletive that goes against everything the band represented during their chart-topping career years, reported Mirror.
The song was written and recorded 27 years ago for their debut album Spice, however, The Sun confirmed that the girls hated the song so much that they never wanted to associate it with their album. The Wannabe singers even refused to include it as a bonus track when the album was re-released last year.
Fans have known and gossiped about the song for years as the girls have discussed it in interviews, but no one had ever heard it until this week.
Let bygones be bygones
Despite the embarrassment and much horror, the Spice Girls have decided against investigating the culprit behind the release of the song. A music insider claimed:
The Spice Girls are all at a very different place in their lives now than they were when this song was first written as a tongue-in-cheek track in the Nineties.
It is obviously a bit embarrassing given the cringeworthy title, as they wouldn’t use the c-word in their own lives.
It is a bit of a mystery how on earth it has got out but they aren’t going to dwell on it.
Spice Girls, particularly Mel C, is furious at the release of the song which she once claimed was a ‘pile of shit.’ However, the girls have much better things to look forward to. The insider added:
The group have other projects they are looking forward to in 2023 so are focusing on them and hoping this song — which they were never particularly fond of — is forgotten.
