The 53-year-old Channel 4’s news presenter initially started his journey with BBC and will be returning to it again. However, the show bosses are not happy with it, here’s why!
Krishnan Guru-Murthy’s past swipes at BBC
Reportedly, Krishnan Guru-Murthy previously took a swipe at BBC that has come back to haunt him. Krishnan started his career on the BBC presenting Newsround until 1994 - when he moved to Newsnight - and entirely left the broadcaster in 1997.
After Gary Lineker’s notorious row with the BBC over impartiality guidelines, Krishnan took a swipe at BBC on The Political Party podcast.
He said:
There may be a boss you knew 20 years ago that you’re quite enjoying watching screw up or they sacked your friend, whatever that might be.
There are grudges in the media obviously, which I’m quite happy to continue.
Gary Lineker’s v/s BBC stemmed from BBC’s ‘excessive’ coverage of the Gary Lineker impartiality row.

BBC bosses ‘unsure’ about Krishnan Guru-Murthy’s return
A place on Strictly Come Dancing is a big thing in the telly industry. Knowing that someone who has slammed BBC previously would be appearing on the show is a hit to show bosses. An insider revealed:
A place on Strictly is one of TV’s golden tickets so it’s far from a good look that one of the cast has been criticising the BBC and even worse when the channel made their name.
Everyone was excited to get Krishnan on board but this has cast a bit of a shadow. The bosses are not happy.
