Susanna Reid’s absence on Good Morning Britain
According to Yahoo! News, the TV presenter was forced to pull out after NTA night as she lost her voice. Even though she went to work like usual, she was unable to speak and not fit to present the show.
Appearing through a video link from her dressing room, Susanna croakingly said:
I'm fine I just can't speak! I don't know [what's wrong]. I don't know whether it was the heat inflaming my vocal chords.
It's funny because of course it was the NTAs last night and when I got into my cab to leave the driver said, 'You're the very first person to leave. You're obviously not partying.'
She added:
I'm really sorry. I can only apologise. But thank you Charlotte for stepping in. I didn't want to inflict this on our viewers for a whole three hours.
Susanna Reid reveals what ailed her as she makes her comeback
The popular journalist appeared on GMB today 12 September as she made her much-awaited comeback. She updated her fans on her Instagram that she had a mild vocal chord infection and could barely speak for a few days.
The presenter is much better now and back in full swing. Addressing her health concerns, Susanna revealed that the infection may have been due to the unexpectedly hot UK weather. She said:
Funny enough, last week, I joked with Laura that it was about the hot weather, and all the climate trolls came out and said I can't believe you're taking it that far.
Actually, I saw a specialist yesterday who said that maybe because of the hot weather, I didn't stay hydrated enough.
The GMB presenter also stated that her voice sounded like that ofHolly Willoughby with bronchitis and was unable to speak at all during the last weekend, confirmed Mirror. As a precaution, Susanna now has to incorporate 'peppermint tea' into her routine and she didn't seem that happy about it. She added:
I've got to switch my normal coffee for a peppermint tea, so life's become a little less enjoyable for me and everyone around me.
As you may have realised in the meeting Ed, because me without coffee at five in the morning is a different beast.
