That is the documentary on Demi Lovato, in which, with no filter, she recalls the events which marked her life. Among them, her overdose dating from 2018. During her confidences, she claims to have been raped by her drug dealer.
A major revelation
With great courage, Demi Lovato reveals details of her assault:
When they found me, I was naked, blue. I was literally left for dead after he took advantage of me. When I woke up in the hospital, they asked me if we had had consensual sex. I had a flash where I saw him on me. I said yes. It was only a month after this overdose that I realized: 'you were not in a position to make a consensual decision.'
But apparently, this was not even the first time Demi Lovato has been sexually assaulted. The singer also spoke of her traumatic 'first time:'
I know what I am about to say will cause some shock. But when I was a teenager I was in a similar situation... I lost my virginity to a rape.
The aggressor remains free
Throughout her story, Demi Lovato explains that she overcame this trauma on her own and highlights the eating disorders that she subsequently developed:
I was part of that Disney team that publicly stated that we would wait until marriage to lose our virginity. I didn't have that romantic first time. It wasn't that for me, it sucked. I had to see this person all the time so I stopped eating and managed otherwise.
To date, her attacker would never have faced any trouble for 'that' says the singer.
The first two parts of the documentary Dancing With the Devil will be unveiled on YouTube on March 23.
