However, even when Alison started her career in the UK showbiz industry, she also had no idea she would make it big one day. The popular This Morning roving presenter is now tipped off to be the host of Paul O’Grady’s For The Love Of Dogs.
After the entertainer’s death last year, his beloved show was in jeopardy & ITV bosses were looking for a replacement. After big names like Amanda Holden and Ricky Gervais, This Morning star Alison Hammond has been finalised for fronting the show, reports The Mirror.
The documentary series first aired in 2012 & the 11th edition came out last year after Paul’s death. A source shared:
Paul is obviously irreplaceable but they believe that not only does Alison bring some of Paul’s trademark self-deprecating humour to proceedings, but that she can also make it her own, just as Paul did.
Alison would be a great signing... and as her ever-expanding portfolio of shows demonstrates, capable of putting her hand to anything.
Alison Hammond: A look into her career so far
Alison started her career working as a holiday rep and entertainer in Tunisia after previously being a child actress. After appearing on Big Brother in 2003, Alison was able to bag a role on This Morning in the same year, thanks to her comfort and ease in front of the camera.
According to The Sun, her celebrity interviews and show appearances have gone viral multiple times. As such, in 2020 it was announced she would be presenting the Friday morning slot with Dermot O’Leary.
Apart from This Morning, Alison appeared on I’m A Celeb and Strictly Come Dancing. The presenter has also been part of many pantos including Snow White, Jack and the Beanstalk, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin.
The reality TV queen has been on a string of reality shows like Celebrity Stars In Their Eyes, Celebrity Ready Steady Cook, Celebrity Coach Trip, and Celebrity MasterChef.
You may have also seen the 48-year-old on Sugar-Free Farm, Celebs Go Dating and the Celebrity edition of The Great British Bake Off. She recently also bagged the presenting duties of The Great British Bake Off.
