Tina Turner was an icon and a survivor
The singer was probably one of the world's greatest artists. She became the icon of generations with her hit songs such as Proud Mary, survivor anthem What's Love Got To Do With It? and The Best. Tina Turner openly spoke out on the domestic abuse her ex-husband put her through, and her struggles in life were turned into an Oscar-winning biopic in 1993.
After she had the courage to walk out from her abusive marriage, Tina Turner launched her very own solo career, becoming one of America's favourite soul icon, in the likes of Aretha Franklin.
