For Tina Turner, there will be no big funeral
Tina Turner was no stranger to extravagance throughout her life. Owner of a sumptuous villa worth $76 million, Ronnie's mother knew how to indulge herself. But according to her former assistant, her last wishes were much more modest, particularly concerning her funeral.
Tina Turner's funeral is expected to happen soon, but before she died, the superstar made sure her instructions would be followed. She told her former personal assistant, Eddy Hampton, who confided in the Mirror on May, 28.
She did not want a big public funeral.
She wanted to be cremated and I expect it to be a small, very private affair.
The I Will Always Love You singer therefore wanted to avoid attracting the public's attention on her funeral, and she apparently wanted to enjoy the privacy she had in the last few years of her life.
It will be for her very close friends in Switzerland, and her manager. It will not be a big family occasion.
So it seems unlikely that the world's biggest stars will gather to say a final farewell to their beloved superstar.

Tina Turner's death came as a shock for the world and her family
While the world has been grieving this great and sudden loss, it has hit Tina Turner's daughter-in-law Afida Turner, particularly hard.
Tina Turner's daughter-in-law, French singer and performer Afida Turner, has been publicly grieving in recent years. First, she lost her ex-boyfriend and US legendary rapper Coolio in September 2022, before losing her husband, Tina Turner's youngest son, Roonie Turner to colon cancer in December 2022. In May 2022, Tina Turner was reunited with her two biological sons, who died only 4 years apart.
The day after Tina Turner's death, Afida Turner was invited on a French tv show to pay tribute. She chose to honour her beloved mother-in-law by singing her own rendition of What's Love Got To Do With It, one of the superstar's biggest hits.
She also spoke out about the diva's death:
I'm shocked, but I was aware of my mother-in-law's medical condition. We had a lot of similarities in terms of character... The only family I could be accepted in was the Turner family, because wearing leather dresses, breaking plates and screaming were part of the menu at their house. So it was perfect for me, I felt really accepted.
One thing's for sure, Afida Turner won't stop keeping her mother-in-law's memory alive!
