Last week fashion designer and former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham turned 50 and celebrated her birthday with an exclusive party in London. The special occasion was celebrated by her close friends and family along with her fellow Spice Girls. The star-studded event was the talk of the town - not just because of the fancy guest list or location but also because amongst the stars who attended the event one significant person was missing.

Any guesses? Well… Victoria’s new daughter-in-law, Nicola Peltz Beckham, was absent from the birthday bash.
Nicola Peltz Beckham not at Victoria Beckham's birthday party
The Posh Spice’s fancy birthday bash saw many celebs impeccably dressed along with her family - David Beckham and children Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper. But Brooklyn Beckham’s - whose line was cut from a recent movie - wife Nicola’s absence from the scene sparked controversy.
According to People Magazine, the actress said she was spending time with her grandmother. The 29-year-old added that she was ‘so sad’ to be missing out on her mother-in-law’s birthday bash. Taking to Instagram she shared an image of her grandmother, who was also her maid of honour at her and Brooklyn's wedding, smiling while hugging her and wrote ‘My world in my arms.’
In the next story, Nicola posted a photo of the Beckham family taken at the event and expressed her remorse for not being with the family. She wrote:
I'm so sad I'm not there to celebrate you and hug you! Sending all my love from me and Naunni. I miss you all so much!
Rumours of a rift between Beckham and Peltz
The absence has added to fire to the previous speculations of rifts between Victoria Beckham and Nicola Peltz. The rumours started coming in 2022 during Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding. If sources are to be believed, the rift started when Nicola refused to wear a Victoria Beckham design and opted for an ensemble by Valentino, Versace and Dior, reports Elle. Meanwhile, Victoria along with many other high-profile guests at the wedding wore outfits created by Victoria’s label - which recently made a profit for the first time.
Further, it was claimed that Nicola kept Victoria out of the wedding plan as much as possible. The communication between them was minimal with Beckhams also not being at the forefront of the wedding events. A source alleged that Nicola also ended up ‘crying her eyes out’ when singer Marc Anthony delivered a speech which was essentially a tribute to Victoria Beckham. This comes as ‘Nicola loves to be the centre of attention’ and especially wanted that treatment on her wedding day.
If this wasn’t much, Brooklyn and Nicola also didn’t meet the Beckham family in Europe while they were on their honeymoon and the Beckhams were vacationing in the same country. Could Nicola’s absence from Victoria’s birthday bash also be a hint of an ongoing cold war between the two?
From a Spice Girls reunion to a phenomenal guest list
Despite Nicola’s evident absence from the event, Victoria Beckham appeared to have the time of her life on her birthday. British Vogue confirms that the event took place at Oswald’s - a private members club in London - and it looked like an incredibly festive affair. Victoria rocked a sheer mint green gown and Harper wore a champagne-coloured dress. The boys of the family wore tuxedos - David, Brooklyn and Romeo opted for classic black and Cruz wore a standout all-white tux.
Apart from the Beckhams, the guest list included Gordon and Tana Ramsay, Salma Hayek-Pinault, Jason Statham, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury, Eva Longoria, Marc Anthony and more, reports MailOnline. Guests enjoyed steak, sea bass and Italian-style sharing platters plus £500 bottles of bubbly before hitting the dancefloor.
Other guests included Victoria’s fellow famous Spice Girls - Geri Halliwell-Turner, Emma Bunton, Melanie ‘Mel C’ Chisholm and Melanie ‘Mel B’ Brown. The beautiful ladies also took to the stage for a while when they performed a surprise dance routine to their 1997 single Stop. David Beckham shared a video of the five women busting into choreography for party-goers while they stood in the same positions as they did in their music video, reports The Guardian. Victoria rushed to comments and wrote:
Best night ever! Happy Birthday to me! I love you all so much!
Meanwhile, Mel B hinted that a reunion of the band may be on the cards soon - something that has been long rumoured since 2022.
How did David Beckham make Victoria Beckham’s night on her 50th birthday?
Apart from guests witnessing a piece of history when they saw the Spice Girls perform, they also witnessed the immense love and respect that the Beckham couple shares. According to The Sun, the 48-year-old footballer reduced Victoria to tears with an emotional speech at her 50th birthday party. Reportedly, Posh Spice ‘welled up’ when David started praising his ‘role model’ partner in front of all 100 guests at the birthday bash which cost around £250,000. A source shared:
David told the party how Victoria’s always been a huge inspiration to him.
He talked of what an amazing role model she is and what an incredible mum she has been. The kids also did speeches — it was very informal but they spoke of how grateful they are for everything she’s done for them.
After the party, Victoria Beckham - who had a broken foot after her recent gym accident - was eventually seen carried by her doting husband. The couple were spotted leaving the bash at around 2:30 am with Victoria being piggybacked by David. It is understood that Victoria arrived at the party with her crutches.
A sweet gesture from her son Cruz
The Daily Mail reports that on top of David paying a sweet tribute to his wife, the night was emotional due to their youngest son, Cruz. Indeed, as the publication explains, the 19 years old apparently stole the show when he took the stage and sang the Spice Girl's song Mama. The words go like this:
Mama, I love you / Mama, I care / Mama, I love you / Mama, my friend (you're my friend)
The song was released in 1996 and featured on the Spice Girl's debut album Spice. Though the song focuses on the tense relationship between mothers and daughters as time goes by, the words of the song were perfect for Cruz to sing at his own mum's 50th birthday!
