The property, first listed in August with Jim Taylor of Hall and Hall, is currently listed at $61 million, which is $10 million shorter than its original asking price. Its current owner, Stephen Gordon, is rumored to have bought the property from the Disney family sometime in the 80s. Here are all the details about this former Disney ranch.
Walt Disney’s Wyoming ranch
Situated almost 30 minutes away from the mighty Yellowstone National Park is the expansive ranch that was once owned by the Disney family. Diamond G Ranch is just outside Dubois in Wyoming. Its natural landscape and terrain offer a unique appeal, particularly to nature lovers. Engulfed by national forestland and high mountain peaks on three sides, it looks like it is straight out of a Disney fairytale.
The details of the ranch
The rustic ranch covers an expansive area of 5,000 acres. As per Architectural Digest, the property consists of a main lodge with five bedrooms and a massive stone fireplace, and an additional two log cabins. It also has a barn with a second-floor office and a 1,500-square-foot manager’s house that comes with three bedrooms. The interiors have been remodeled and renovated over the years, offering a rustic yet chic vibe to them.
The property is perfect for outdoorsy people who just want to kick back and live in the crux of nature with or without cattle. Being remote, the property is perfect for occasional animal and wildlife sightings. It is also a paradise for Disney lovers, as it can be presumed that a lot of the Disney magic seen on screens could have had its beginnings on this ranch.
