As the public enjoys the new season, you may wonder what the previous winners have been up to since.
Season one of The Traitors had three winners
For the show’s very first season back in 2022, The Traitors saw three people win. Yes, you read that correctly, three people won the show.
Aaron Evans, Hannah Byczkowski, and Meryl Williams all won the show when they successfully discovered that Wilf Webster was the final Traitor. As a result, the trio won £101,050 between them.
This meant that the three winners had to split the prize money. In the end, they each left with a massive £33,000.
In 2024, Harry Clark, who has previously talked about romance rumours with fellow contestant Mollie Pearce, won the second season of the show. Clark bagged a whopping £95,150.
What have the four winners been doing since leaving the show?
Hannah Byczkowski is a full-time stand-up comedian
As per Daily Mail, Hannah Byczkowski was forced to quit her previous job in social care when she went on The Traitors, as they refused to give her time off to film. As a result, she explained that she used her prize money to ‘pay her bills’ as she focused on becoming a stand-up comedian.
She revealed that the prize money ‘changed her life’:
It has changed my life more than I think 30 grand could for a lot of other people.
I had to quit my job before I went into the show because they wouldn't let me go and film, so I had to start doing full-time comedy.
As Hannah works on her comedy career, she is also co-host of the popular podcast Ghost Hunts, which toured the UK in early 2024. She has also made several other TV appearances, including Celebrity Weakest Link and even played Gemma Collins in ITV Stand Up Sketch Show.
Meryl Williams wants to work in the TV industry
Following her win on The Traitors, Meryl Williams revealed she planned to use her £30k for a career change. Speaking to Metro, she explained she hadn’t spent her prize money by the end of 2022, as she wanted to ‘work in a different career path’.
She added that she really wanted to work in the TV industry, especially presenting:
So I’ve not spent it yet. I’d like to work in a different career path, and I would really like to break into the television industry – I’d love to do presenting, something like that.
Like fellow winner Hannah, Meryl is also a co-host of a podcast called You & Me. More recently, Meryl talked about the show and what goes on behind the camera.
As the latest season has two sisters in the show, Meryl explains that this could lead to ‘whispers’ due to their bond. Similarly, in season two, a mother-son duo competed.
That is something that I always wondered about, because obviously there was a mother and her son in season two and sisters in season three. I highly doubt they didn’t tell each other that they were Traitors (or Faithfuls). There would be opportunities to whisper together or even chat quickly in the toilet.
However, she does reveal that producers try to limit off-screen discussions as much as possible, as they ‘don’t want to miss any crucial parts or important conversations’. As per Wales Online, she explained:
They want to try and keep everything for the camera. They don’t want to miss any crucial parts or important conversations.
For us, this was our time off in a sense, as we would know there were no cameras on us. People would ask, ‘Is it you, is it you?’ and I’d continue eating my dinner and say that I’d talk to them after.
You weren’t allowed to talk to the other contestants after filming.
Aaron Evans gave his prize money away
For the third and final winner of season one, Aaron Evans revealed he gave away his prize money to his mother. However, he had to ask for some of the money back as he needed it.
Aaron revealed this when he appeared on First Dates. He explained he asked for £3k back as he was ‘skint’.
I got to the final and won like £33,000. I ended up giving the money to my mum anyway. Well, I gave her the £33,000, and then asked for three grand back because I was skint.
Aaron also made an appearance on Celebrity Mastermind. Before taking part in The Traitors, Aaron was an estate agent. Since winning, it has been said he is working on yachts, as reported by Yahoo News.
Moreover, Aaron Evans has sizeable Instagram account with 354K followers, and a growing YouTube account. Per his homepage, he appears to share snippets of his life through sport, with hiking and cycling vlogs.
Harry Clark co-hosts a podcast
Harry Clark won season two of The Traitors. As per Capital, Harry quit his job as an engineer in the army, after serving for six years, in April 2023 to accommodate the demands that were flowing following his appearance on the hit BBC show.
Since winning, Clark co-hosts his own podcast with fellow The Traitors contestant Paul Gorton, called The Harry and Paul Show. Per the podcast’s description on Spotify, it is a ‘comedy podcast’ where they talk about ‘their wild takes on life, fame, and the absurdities of the world’.
Moreover, as reported by Capital, Harry paid off his parents’ debt with his prize money and put the rest in a bank. At the end of 2024, he was still living with his parents in Slough. He told Revamp:
I live at home with my parents now, so I can save. I paid off my mum and dad’s personal debts with the winnings from The Traitors. The rest was just put in the bank. I haven’t even seen it. I live off what I’ve made this year from other work.
