Who is Ella Morgan and why is she famous?
The 29-year-old clinic consultant from Weston-Super-Mare is a transgender woman to take part in E4’s reality TV show - Married At First Sight UK. Ella has made history as the first transgender bride to be on the show, confirmed Heart Magazine.
During her first dinner party on the show, Ella opened up about her journey and shared that she always knew she was a girl despite being born in a different body. She said:
When I was born, I appeared very different to how I do today. My mum gave birth to four boys, three brothers, and then me.
I've never questioned who I am. I've always known I'm Ella inside. We all have struggles in life. Most people just never have to question their identity or their gender.
I don't expect you guys to understand or get me. All I ask is that you respect me and treat me as the person I am.
I'm not ashamed to stand here as an openly transgender woman, where there's so much negative stigma about trans people.
She detailed that her relationship with her family is now ‘super close’ after going through a difficult childhood. They have happily accepted her for who she is and is particularly close to her Nan.

Who is Ella paired with on the show?
The experts, including Mel, Charlene and Paul, with much care and thought, partnered her with Nathanial Valentino, a former Geordie Shore star. After walking down the aisle, Ella filled in Nathanial on her past, candidly discussing her transition journey before they began their next chapter together. The two appeared to get well along quickly but things took a turn when they clashed on their honeymoon. Reportedly, Ella cheated on Nathanial with another groom who checked her boxes better.
MAFS UK was filmed from February to July this year and is airing currently on E4. However, despite remaining tight-lipped about their relationship, Nathanial revealed that he’s no longer with Ella. Capital FM confirmed that he always had ‘reservations’ about being paired with Ella, but went ahead with the decision regardless. Nathaniel revealed:
I told producers that I wanted to marry a man or a woman with a very masculine energy because that’s normally who I go for.
Then I was told they matched me with a lovely girl who was transgender. My first reaction was ‘no’ because I felt that just wasn’t me, and I told them so.
But they encouraged me to think about it, saying if I didn’t take part it would ruin this girl’s story.

Ella Morgan on being a transgender bride
The star has over 39k Instagram followers and is slowly gaining traction. Ever since her MAFS UK gig, she has done tons of interviews voicing her opinion.
As the first transgender woman to ever be on the show, Ella knew she was in for a ride. Being a representation of her community that usually doesn’t get that much exposure on TV, she always knew she would be judged. Ella said:
I feel like I'm naturally going to get judged, and I have already online because of my label of being trans, but I'm really proud - there was a time I wasn't proud to talk about it - so the fact that I am making history as the first trans person, I am proud of myself.
As a part of the show, Ella was trolled online and many transphobic comments were directed towards her and her family. According to Pink News, Ella has to ultimately take a step back from social media after all the hate.
Speaking on Instagram, Ella said:
I’ve just found it a little bit hard and I’m going to be real with you guys, so I’ve just taken a step back.
I don’t always read the comments anymore because of the transphobia. I can take it, I’m resilient to it. I’ve heard it enough times by now.
But it’s not fair on my family, who didn’t ask for all of this but they still want to support me.
