Olivia Hawkins receives death threats
In her recent statement, according to The Sun, the Ring Girl has confessed that life after leaving the villa has been ‘really difficult’ for her.Love Island bosses issued a ruling this year that left the social media accounts of all the contestants dormant during their stint in the villa. The step was taken to protect the star’s friends and family from getting any online hate or being trolled.
However, it didn’t work out as well for the contestants as the show bosses had thought. Ever since her arrival back in the UK, Olivia confirmed that she has received some pretty awful messages online and the ban has only made it worse. Olivia said:
It's hard.
And obviously, because of the social media change, the trolling hadn't been filtered out, so I was the one having to see it all by myself when I left the villa, which was really difficult.
She added:
The mental health aspects of fame and trolling [are the hardest things to deal with].
When you get the nasty comments - and I have had quite a lot of death threats - you just don't expect it at all.
So when you see it, you're just completely shocked.

Love Island Social Media ban should be optional
This comes after Winter Love Island star Zara Lackenby-Brown also confirmed that the social media ban didn’t do her any good. The ban didn’t stop her family from seeing abuse and hate directed towards her, reported BBC. Zara revealed:
If people can't message your account, people are going to find another way.
They're going to make a TikTok video, they're going to make a YouTube video, they're going to make another account to talk about reactions.
Zara also claimed that the ban only ‘stunted our social media growth.’ Meanwhile, Tanyel insisted that the ‘ban should be optional.’ She said:
I would have said no, I don't need it, personally, and I would have said lift the ban.
But I do think health is so important. And if it's going to help people, then obviously keep it there.
