Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford were an iconic couple. Not only were they successful separately but they were a memorable duo on This Morning. Unfortunately, that collaboration ended in 2021 when ITV decided to let them go and replace them with Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.

After that significant career shift, the two moved on – Eamonn joining GB News and Ruth continued on ITV as a guest panelist on Loose Women. On top of these professional changes, the two were regularly in the spotlight concerning their relationship.
They had been together since 1997 and married since 2005 and their union has been marked by Eamonn’s health struggles. At the end of May, after weeks of speculation, the two announced their separation.
Eamonn Holmes allegedly seeing someone else
On 1 and 2 June 2024, The Sun on Sunday reported that Eamonn Holmes had been ‘consoled in his marriage split by a blonde divorcee in her 40s — who is a relationship counsellor’.
According to the publication the two ‘grew close’ after they met several years back. The two have already been spotted together at several outings. The Sun wrote:
He has been on outings with the woman, including to a safari park, and showered her with gifts.
Later adding:
[Eamonn] has endorsed a charity linked to her work, helping to host a fund-raising event free of charge.
The two reportedly met after the woman made contact on X and have developed their 'situationship' over the last year.
Ruth Langsford reportedly didn’t know about it
The Sun on Sunday explains that the Loose Women panelist ‘was not aware of their liaisons until recently’.
A source talking to the tabloid said:
Ruth was obviously aware that her marriage was crumbling, but as details emerge, her upset has turned to anger.
When they announced their split the two explained that they aimed for things to remain ‘amicable’ and that they hoped to ‘stay friends’. As a reminder they share a son and Ruth is reportedly very close to Eamonn’s children.
Moreover, it has also been reported that Ruth 'blindsided' Eamonn with the statement of their divorce as he allegedly didn’t know she wanted to share the news. A friend of Eamonn told Daily Mail at the time:
He literally found out about it a very short time before it was published – you’re talking hours.
