Now, the Royal Family has enough houses for their members but you might be interested in living like royalty. Well, we have just found the perfect house …
The Queen Mother’s house
Listed on fineandcountry.com, what is now called ‘The Old Vicarage’ is actually a house the Queen Mother bought. According to the house listing, she never actually lived there but ‘Princess Margaret apparently did once spend the night.’
Even though she bought the house, it ended up being given to the gardener at the local church who gave it its current name. However, he lost the house and it was sold at auction in 1987 to the current owners.
This house is not just a house. No. The listing states:
Not so much a house as a lifestyle.
The listing specifies that the house has gone through significant refurbishment but that:
This is a house for living and embracing life. This is a house that positively invites you to sit down and relax.
It has everything you would need inside and out. If you decide to buy the house you will have access to ‘Four reception rooms, large conservatory, dining kitchen, home office, one bed annex, six bedrooms (two ensuite).’
Not just that the land around it is ‘just over 3 acres.’

The price of such ‘lifestyle’
This is a country home so if you enjoy the energy of a great city this property won’t be for you.
The house is located ‘adjacent Winster and Lyth Valleys are a quiet and relatively hidden corner of Cumbria.’ The nature surrounding the house sounds idyllic and assures you to live a life worthy of a royal.
To have access to such luxury and nature you will have to pay the hefty price of £3,500,000.
