Princess Diana’s rare photo with long hair revealed by brother
In a recent post, he has shared a new picture of Princess Diana with long hair. Shared on Instagram on Saturday, March 2, Charles unveiled a black-and-white snapshot of himself and Diana smiling together in the late '60s. The photo shows a 3-year-old Charles with an older sister who is probably 5 or 6 years old posing on a swing, reports People Magazine.
Their mother Frances Shand Kydd held onto him from behind as he wrote the caption:
My mother, Diana and I, in c. 1967. I would have been 3, and Diana 5 or 6. I love how happy each of us looks.
Charles Spencer - who has been divorced two times - shared a tidbit about his childhood nickname in the post as well. Princess Diana’s mother nicknamed him ‘Buzz’ for that phase of his life as he was always happy with endless energy. He captioned:
At this stage of my life, my mother nicknamed me 'Buzz' - because she saw me as having the endless energy of a rather happy - and busy - bee. #Family #SpencerFamily.
Princess Diana and Charles Spencer’ bond as siblings
Princess Diana and Charles were two of five children born to Frances and John Spencer. They had two older sisters Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane Fellowes as well as an older brother, John Spencer, who died shortly after his birth in 1960.
Out of all of Princess Diana’s siblings, Charles Spencer has been the most vocal about her legacy. In 2017, speaking to People Magazine, he revealed there are ‘many myths’ about his and his siblings’ upbringing. When Princess Diana was seen by the world at the age of 19, she was promptly nicknamed ‘Shy Di’ by the press.
The 9th Earl Spencer shared:
First of all, none of us ever called her ‘Di.’
In fact, there are so many myths from our childhood that are just so ridiculous. That’s one of them.
I just think she was never shy, but she was canny about people and she was reserved to start with. And she would take a judgment of somebody before reacting to them. So, that’s not shy... that’s actually quite clever.
Charles often shares snippets of Princess Diana with the world. He previously shared a rare intimate childhood photo of her as well.
