Last year Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made their exit in a bid to become more financially independent of the crown. And, after signing some rather lucrative contracts with Netflix and Spotify as well as starting their own charity Archwell, it looks like the two now have plans to expand their business into the UK.

Sussexes file trademark papers for UK production company
It seems that the Duke and Duchess are hoping to start a production company in the UK after filing the paperwork with the UK's Intellectual Property Office to trademark the name ‘Archewell Productions’.
Documents submitted by the couple’s legal team outline the purpose of the company to make ‘motion picture films, televisions series and videos’ in all genres, which according to The Sun also includes thrillers and comedy. A source spoke to the news outlet saying:
Meghan and Harry’s approach to their TV ambitions has always been serious — but it’s hard to imagine them coming up with the next Only Fools and Horses.
The couple already signed a deal with Netflix last year for a similar purpose but having their own company could afford the couple more creative freedom.
The move into the entertainment industry isn’t a huge surprise to the public as before her marriage to Prince Harry in 2018, Meghan had made quite the name for herself as an actress on the show Suits. Markle also recently joined forces with Disney in order to narrate the documentary Elephants.
The couple has also recently announced a collaboration with Spotify in order to create podcasts that highlight a range of ‘diverse perspectives and voices’. The couple’s podcast can be found in the app under Archewell Audio and already they have released their first episode featuring Elton John, James Corden, Naomi Osaka and even little Archie himself!
Sussexes set to make UK return
After a whole year of being away,Harry and Meghan are also set to reunite with the royal family this yearfor the Queen’s famous Trooping of the Colour ceremony. The event is set to take place on June 12 but with the current state of the pandemic in the UK, it has been rumoured that this year’s parade will be more scaled back than previous years.
It has also been rumoured that the couple’s trip may be extended over the summer as Harry will no doubt want to be in attendance for the unveiling of Princess Diana’s statue which had been commissioned by the royal sons. However, a source close to the couple has spoken out saying that the trip will be largely reliant on the pandemic:
Their hope is to come back but their travel plans are largely dependent on the pandemic. They would absolutely want to be back for the Queen’s 95th and the Duke’s 100th birthday and of course for the Diana statue. They always planned to be back in Britain for important events like this.
