Amidst this, the question arises whether things would change or not when Kate Middleton becomes the Queen Consort. More specifically, will things change for her side of the family, especially her sister Pippa Middleton.
Will Pippa Middleton get a title?
When Camilla became the Queen Consort, as per the wishes of late Queen Elizabeth II, she made sure her look-alike younger sister Annabel Elliot was also known to the world. Camilla gave her the title when she appointed Annabel Elliot as ‘the Queen's Companions.’ The role is equivalent to that of the Queen’s ‘ladies in waiting,’ as the two sisters have been close over the years.
Similarly, Kate and Pippa Middleton also share a close bond with each other. Pippa frequently shows up alongside Kate during public engagements. But would she also get a title like Annabel Elliot did? The answer is both yes and no, reports Hello! Magazine.
Historically, it would be unprecedented for Pippa to receive a title simply because her sister would be the Queen Consort. However, if the Princess of Wales wishes, she could grant Pippa a title similar to the one Camilla gave for her sister.
Additionally, even if Pippa doesn’t receive a title from the Royals, she will gain one eventually. Her husband James Matthews is reportedly set to inherit his father's title as Laird of Glen Affric, therefore Pippa will become Lady of Glen Affric.
Kate Middleton and Pippa Middleton's relationship over the years
Despite Kate being a part of the Royal Family, she and Pippa share an incredibly close bond. For instance, Pippa’s £15 million mansion is a mere 10 minutes away from Windsor Castle - very close by to the Waleses' Adelaide Cottage.
The two sisters often spend family time together, confirms TheMirror. In a previous interview with NBC, Pippa revealed:
I mean, obviously, she has pressures that she's taken on and things. But we spend a lot of time together.
We still do a lot together as a family. We have a very normal, sisterly relationship. We're very close. And, you know, we support each other and get each other's opinions and things.
Pippa’s friends have also revealed that not just the two sisters but all three siblings are very close to each other. GB News reports that a source close to Pippa once said:
The three siblings are incredibly tight … Pippa is not only a sister but as a best friend she can confide in. They are extremely loyal to one another.
Pippa was also famously Kate Middleton’s ‘maid of honour’ at her wedding with Prince William in 2011. And the Princess returned the favour of her maid of honour duties when Pippa tied the knot in 2017. Over the years, the sisters have taken family vacations together with their kids getting along just as well as the sisters do. Royal expert Jennie Bond remarked that the closeness of their bond remains so strong still because Pippa also married a wealthy man and shares a similar lifestyle (if not as Royal) as her sister.
