Naturally, royal fans have taken to Twitter to express their opinions, with many backing up the Princess of Wales and her choices.
The media has been saying that Princess Kate is choosing outfits that copy Princess Diana and the late Queen Elizabeth in a bid to take the shine of the new King. At the latest events, Trooping the Colour and the Order of the Garter, Princess Kate had worn outfits that reminded many of Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth.
Princess Kate’s fashion choices
For the first Trooping the Colour for King Charles, Princess Kate wore a green dress and matching hat, which many linked to Queen Elizabeth’s outfit last year. Media has suggested that this was a subtle tribute to the late monarch.
Then for the Order of the Garter, the Princess of Wales wore a black and white polka dot dress, Princess Diana had worn a similar dress for the Royal Ascott in 1988. Again, the media has claimed this is a tribute to Prince William’s mother.

Others also pointed out that the polka dot dress, is a re-wear for the Princess and that she can wear a dress without trying to copy Diana:
She has worn this dress before. Looking lovely regardless. Gosh she wore a polka dot dress wow. Of course she was not copying she just wanted to wear a dress. Both ladies fashionable and both had their own style.
For her choice of outfit at Trooping the colour, it was noted that Princess Kate is the Colonel of the Irish Guards, so it makes sense that she would wear green:
She is the colonel of the Irish guards & their colour is green. I think she looked stunning though.
