10-day quarantine for the Duchess of Cambridge
According to Mail Online, the Duchess of Cambridge was informed about her contact with a COVID infected person on Friday afternoon, after spending most of her day at Wimbledon.
It is not known if the Duchess of Cambridge was alerted through the NHS app, a phone call from test and trace or if she or her team was contacted personally. Prince William's decision to continue his duties today means the COVID case may not be in their close circle.
This implies that she must be inquarantine for ten dayseven after her tests have shown negative four times in the previous week.
Kensington Palace said in a statement:
Last week The Duchess of Cambridge came into contact with someone who has subsequently tested positive for Covid-19. Her Royal Highness is not experiencing any symptoms, but is following all relevant government guidelines and is self-isolating at home.
Is self-isolating becoming obsolete?
This new development certainly mounts pressure on Boris Johnson to remove the self-isolation rules from July 19, because it is causing a lot of uproar in the British society, especially in schools and businesses, which are forced to close, making students or workers go home in these establishments on account of one positive case.
