Since she spends a lot of time in the public eye, fans love to analyse her outfits and find out where she got her clothes from, and they succeed most of the time. However, there’s one thing they haven’t been able to put their finger on till now—what scent she’s wearing.

Favourite fragrance

Luckily, her favourite perfume has been revealed by Susan Kelley who founded What Kate Wore, a blog dedicated to all things Kate Middleton. She announced that Kate’s most beloved fragrance is Orange Blossom by Jo Malone. Kelley said:

I’ve seen people on social media who have bumped into Kate when she’s out shopping and have said she smells amazing, like raspberry and fruit – very clean, crisp smells.

Apparently the Duchess loves it so much that she chose to sport the fragrance on her wedding day.

Wearing perfume as a member of the royal family

While Middleton is free to wear whatever perfume she likes in her own time, there is a custom that royal family members have to follow when they’re carrying out duties with the Crown—they’re not supposed to wear any perfume.

Myka Meire, author of Modern Etiquette Made Easy and founder of Beaumont Etiquette, who was also trained by a member of the Queen’s household staff told Bazaar:

It is uncommon for Royals to wear any fragrance whatsoever.
Fragrance is a very personal preference, and while one might enjoy their own personal perfume, the person they are meeting with may not. Therefore, in professional situations, it’s unlikely any fragrance, including both perfume or scented body creams, would be used.
