Kate Middleton nicknamed ‘engine,’ here’s why
Mike Tindall - who has been married to Prince William's cousin Zara - is very close to Prince William and Kate Middleton. This was also proved when their daughter Mia Tindall stole the limelight during the family’s Christmas walk.
Owing to his closeness with the Royal couple, Mike Tindall previously revealed he has a sweet nickname for Kate Middleton. According to The Mirror, the former rugby player calls her ‘engine’ because of her impressive levels of physical fitness. Mike revealed that Kate is a fan of running and can ‘run all day.’ Speaking on the House of Rugby podcast a few years ago, he said:
I've got the Duchess of Cambridge on one wing because she loves running, she can run all day. Engine!
Not only Kate Middleton, but even Prince William is a good runner, Mike added:
Willy's quick. I've raced him, he's quick, he has really fast leg speed.
The sporty princess - Kate Middleton
The Princess of Wales is understood to be a natural sportsman. The 42-year-old is well-known for her love of tennis, sailing, skiing and hockey among other hobbies. From her days on the t Andrew's school field hockey team to always accepting a sporting challenge as a senior Royal, Kate Middleton makes sports look easy.
As the Royal ambassador for many sporting events, Kate has taken part in various sports like cricket, hockey, boat racing, basketball, boxing, archery, volleyball, tennis, soccer, sailing and skiing. One of the most surprising things about Kate playing sports as a Royal is that she does it in heels, reports The Sun.
In 2015 at the Cricket World Cup in New Zealand, the princess played cricket in her black court shoes. In November 2012, she played hockey with students at her former school – St Andrew’s. The bravest sporty moment in heels had to be when the princess played volleyball in wedges three months after giving birth to Prince George.
