It’s ‘standard’
In the one-minute teaser that was released before the first part of the docuseries, the couple is seen attending public events and private behind-the-scenes moments. Amidst those scenes, there’s also footage of endless photographers supposedly hounding the couple.
However, it was later discovered that the footage was from the photographers who followed Katie Price when she arrived at court in Crawley, West Sussex in December 2021. After the couple was slammed for using the fake footage, allies of the Duke and Duchess have come forward to defend them.
According to Telegraph, the use of stock footage and photographs in trailers is a ‘standard practice in documentary and trailer production.’ The said:
You use stock images to tell a story. It's not meant to be literal in a trailer.
Meanwhile, a source close to the entire making of the ‘unprecedented and in-depth documentary series’ has claimed that Prince Harry and Meghan had no editorial control of the trailer themselves.
Katie's Say
Amidst this, a source has claimed that Katie Price thinks she's more famous than the Sussex couple, reported OK! Magazine. The unnamed source told the publication:
Katie was shocked to see her trial footage being used by Harry and Meghan but she also saw the funny side of it and joked, ‘Well, I am more famous than them!’
Katie knows exactly what it’s like to be hounded and chased by paparazzi. It’s something that has never been easy but has become a part of her everyday life.
The series is going to focus on how Meghan was treated similar to her late mother-in-lawDiana, the ‘pain and suffering’ of women marrying into the Royal family and the role of the media. After seeing the scenes where the couple is seen hounded by paparazzi, a royal staff has attacked Netflixfor the wrong portrayal, reported Mirror. The source revealed:
She never confronted scenes where she was mobbed because we did so much to protect her... so they've had to make them up.
