King Charles allegedly had Prince William sign ‘waiver’ after repeatedly flying with family, new book claims

Being a part of the Royal Family means there are many rules and protocols that must be followed. However, it seems Prince William may not be following all of them and it's been a cause of concern.

30 RULES ROYALS MUST ABIDE BY

As many know, the Royal Family has several protocols and rules that all members of the Firm must follow. Some of the protocols are simple, such as the highest-ranked members always walk first or greet others first (ie: Prince William walks in front of Princess Kate).

Other rules and protocols are in place to protect the throne, but there are occasions when members of the Royal Family have broken protocols. For example, it is normal for heirs to the throne to not travel with their parents in case anything happens during the flight or car ride. This meant that Prince Charles never travelled with Queen Elizabeth, and Prince William never travelled with King Charles.

However, claims in a new book have suggested that Prince William may not be following this protocol and it led to His Majesty taking action.

Prince William allegedly signed a waiver

As mentioned above, heirs to the throne are not meant to travel with their familyin the event something happens while travelling which could put the Crown in jeopardy. However, according to reports, Prince William has not been following this protocol.

As Mirror, Robert Jobson will be releasing a biography on Princess Kate. Even though the book will focus on the Princess of Wales, Jobson has also revealed snippets of her life with Prince William.

In his book, he claims that King Charles has a new view on his life and those around him in light of his recent health struggles and as a result, he has allegedly scolded his eldest son. According to Mirror, the late Queen Elizabeth and King Charles were concerned over the fact that Prince William, an experienced pilot, was flying his young family across Britain in a helicopter.

The concern comes from a crash in 1967 that killed the Captain of the Queen's Flight. Indeed it would be devastating if anything happened to the Wales family, and it would have major consequences on the line of succession.

As a result, according to Robert Jobson, King Charles forced his son to ‘sign a waiver’ saying he acknowledges the dangers of flying with his family after he reportedly refused to stop.

King Charles — perhaps reminded of his own mortality — echoed his late mother’s concerns.
And when William refused to stop flying with his family, Charles insisted that he sign a formal document, acknowledging the risks involved and taking full responsibility for his actions.

Who is Robert Jobson?

As per Simon and Schuster, Robert Jobson is the royal editor at Evening Standard and Australia's Channel 7 Sunrise. Jobson is also a royal on-screen contributor for ABC’s Good Morning America and he is a regular on BBC, ITV and Sky News.

Jobson’s book, Catherine, the Princess of Wales, A Biography of the Future Queen, focuses on Princess Kate’s full story, from her university days to being a mother of three and the future Queen of England.

As per the synopsis of the biography, Jobson has ‘extensive connections within the royal household’ which has contributed to his knowledge of the Wales family. The book will be published on August 1, 2024, and has been described as ‘revelatory’.
