King Charles’ coronation guest rules
Being one of the most tight-security events in the country, many spectators have wondered if there are some kind of rules that these attendees have to follow - and they’re right. The guests to King Charles’ £50m more expensive coronation than Queen Elizabeth are expected to follow a few strict rules regardless of rank, power or fame. Here’s what they are
No electronic devices
OK! Magazine confirms that using a camera, video or sound recording equipment is not permitted during the ceremony. The guests will have to switch off their electronic devices as soon as the coronation ceremony commences. Expect no inside or BTS photos from any attendee!
Conversation guidelines
One of the most bizarre rules that coronation guests have to follow is to keep their conversations to a minimum. They are expected to have minimal to no conversation when the music before the ceremony is playing.
Dress Code guidelines
According to Vogue, King Charles has meticulously detailed the dress code of his coronation to be more modern than the traditional solemn, robe-filled ceremony. The guests are expected to wear Morning Dress, Lounge Suit or National Dress and women are expected to wear formal day wear such as midi dresses or coat dresses. Attendees are spotted in suits fascinators, military uniforms and medals and religious clothing.

King Charles’ coronation security
In order to ensure a safe and secure event, sniffer dogs have been patrolling the area leading up to the abbey. After the ceremony ends at 1 pm, King Charles and Queen Camilla will be accompanied by around 4,000 sailors, soldiers, aviators and other military personnel from across the UK and the Commonwealth for their procession.
The return procession will also include more than 1,000 route liners from the Army, RAF and Royal Navy as the newly crowned King and Queen head back to Buckingham Palace and give the world their iconic balcony visit.
