Now that her eldest son is the King of England, the focus has shifted on his dietary preferences and habits. It was revealed recently that the King has chosen a quiche to be his signature dish for his upcoming coronation, and it lead many to wonder more about the monarch's likes and dislikes.
Turns out, there are many unusual food preferences and a fancy dish that King Charles III has banned in the kitchen.
King Charles and his dislike for foie gras
To begin with, King Charles III's most disliked fancy dish – foie gras – has been banned in the royal household for the last 14 years, according to MyLondon. The monarch dubbed the dish ‘disgusting’ and banned his chefs from buying it.
Animal rights charities have protested the product's production and sale due to the food itself. Andrew Farquharson, deputy master of the household at Clarence House, revealed:
The Prince of Wales has a policy that his chefs should not buy foie gras. His Royal Highness was not aware that the House of Cheese sells foie gras and this will be addressed when their warrant is reviewed.

King Charles is particular about his mushrooms
Apart from the delicacy, King Charles III is also very particular about his mushrooms. The monarch loves wild mushrooms and only the ones produced from his own estate. Chef Darren McGrady, the former chef to the Queen, confirmed:
He loves wild mushrooms and would take his chefs to Balmoral to show them where the best mushrooms are.
We brought them back to Buckingham Palace and they were the most amazing porcini mushrooms.
His ideal meal is wild mushroom risotto with organic lamb, while his favourite food is boiled eggs.
