What is a coronation?
Even though Britain now has a multi-faith system, there will be an Anglican service. It is still expected to keep a few multi-faith aspects, confirms MSN. The coronation will be conducted at Westminster Abbey under the codename Operation Golden Orb. Which has been in place for years.
Camilla Parker Bowles would be named Queen Consort next to Charles as the King. Metro.co.uk confirmed:
The Golden Orb committee used to meet twice a year, but now they’re meeting much more frequently, sometimes once a month.
Compared to the last coronation, there will be a lot less fuss. Last time, special green chairs were commissioned and guests were able to have them delivered to their homes afterwards. You won’t see that sort of thing this time.
The coronation will be televised so that people around the world can witness it too. While no official dates have been released yet, it is likely to happen in Summer or Spring 2023.
Will it be a bank holiday?
As the Queen’s funeral and Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, King Charles III’s coronation will likely be a bank holiday. All significant royal events are typically made bank holidays, so things don’t seem too different for King Charles’ coronation as well.
King Charles is the oldest person in British history to become the King and his reign would be called the Carolean era. Carolean is derived from the Carolus – the Latin for Charles.
