A star-studded affair
A star-studded concert will be held at Windsor Castle to mark King Charles III’s coronation. The official line-up has not yet been confirmed, but there is plenty of speculation about who might make an appearance.
It is believed that part of the line-up will include British artists from various musical genres. Express speculates that Ed Sheeran, Elton John, and Queen are expected to feature. It is said that there are talks to add Harry Styles and Dua Lipa to the mix.
Other stars could include Eric Clapton, Sting, Cliff Richard, Rod Steward and perhaps even Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. There are even rumours that the Spice Girls may make a comeback for the first time since the closing ceremony of the 2012 Olympics.
There is also expected to be a Coronation Choircreated from community choirs and amateur singers, which will appear alongside The Virtual Choir, composed of singers from across the Commonwealth.
A spokesperson for the Palace said the coronation celebrations will ‘reflect the monarch's role today and look towards the future while being rooted in longstanding traditions and pageantry’.
A Royal expert said:
It will certainly be an amazing sight. But it won’t be the grand affair we had in 1953, which had all the colonial troops. It will feel less imperial.

Caught on camera for the first time
According to The Telegraph, the King could become the first monarch in British history to be publicly anointed during his coronation. During previous coronations, the moment the Archbishop of Canterbury pours holy oil onto the Coronation Spoon and anoints the sovereign is not seen by the public.
During Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation, which was the first to be televised, a cloth was held over her head to respect her privacy, as was done with previous monarchs.
However, The Telegraph reports that the canopy that will be used in King Charles’s coronation will have a see-through top, allowing the King to decide if he wants the anointment to be public or not.
It has yet to be confirmed which cloth the King intends to use.
