The Palace had surprisingly announced last week that King Charles would be undergoing surgery to treat an enlarged prostate, which The Palace assured was not cancer-related. This came as a shock as it is unusual to have such detailed reports of medical treatment for the Royal Family, especially the reigning Monarch.

On the same day, it was announced that Princess Kate was recovering from abdominal surgery, which was also not cancer-related as per The Palace. It was also strange that The Palace announced both surgeries on the same day, which may have been a deliberate play by King Charles. Now that King Charles has undergone his surgery, how is His Majesty doing post-op?

King Charles is recovering from surgery

A royal source has claimed that King Charles is ‘doing well’ after his surgery on Friday, January 26, as per The Independent. Queen Camilla visited her husband and was seen smiling as she left the private London clinic, the same place Princess Kate is recovering from surgery.

It has not been said how long the King will be staying at the hospital but reports suggest he could be there for the whole weekend at least. The King, 75, was treated for a benign enlarged prostate, which can be common among men over the age of 50.

How is Princess Kate’s recovery going?

It has been over a week since it was announced that Princess Kate had undergone abdominal surgery. The statement from The Palace explained that the Princess of Wales would be in hospital for 10 to 14 before being discharged and she would continue her recovery at home.

As per The Independent, King Charles reportedly visited his daughter-in-law at the hospital before his own scheduled surgery. Moreover, it is believed that Prince William has cleared his calendar of any upcoming events since his wife was admitted to hospital.

This is likely due to the fact that someone needs to look after their children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 7 and Prince Louis 5.

It is said that the Princess of Wales is also ‘doing well’ since her surgery with Prince William regularly visiting. Princess Kate will not be returning to royal duties until after Easter.
