Meghan is a liar
This comes after Samantha has accused Meghan of lying and defaming her family by saying things for her benefit. While Meghan’s lawyers have hit back and denied the claims, a judge in Florida has set a trial date for October 2, 2023, for the Markle sisters, reports Mirror.
Samantha is seeking $75,000 (£57,000) from Meghan for claiming that she ‘grew up as an only child.’ According to her, Meghan also lied about her fairy-tale ‘rags-to-royalty’ upbringing at the expense of her paternal family.
Now, if the two sisters fail to settle the case in meditation, the trial will begin on October 2, 2023, and will last for five days. If they want to avoid the trial, they must agree on a mediator by the end of September and complete discovery by May. Meanwhile, Judge Charlene Edwards Honeywell insists that both the sisters should make submissions to avoid ‘wasteful pretrial activities.’
Meghan’s defence
Meghan’s lawyers claim that her account of growing up as an only child was a subjective textbook example of how every person feels about their childhood. Michael Kump, Meghan’s lawyer, previously said:
This baseless and absurd lawsuit is just a continuation of a pattern of disturbing behaviour. We will give it the minimum attention necessary, which is all it deserves.
