Meghan Markle: New pictures of the Duchess trigger wave of reactions

If you expected negative reactions to Meghan Markle’s new pictures then sorry to disappoint. On Tuesday 26 September, Meghan Markle’s former co-star Patrick J. Adams took to Instagram to share pictures of the Duchess on set.

The beautiful pictures have of course caused a media frenzy but they have also gathered hundreds of thousands of likes and comments on social media. However, the comments are not what you would usually expect from comments surrounding Meghan Markle.

Suits’ new found popularity

Since Netflix added Suits to its catalogue, the show has been enjoying a new wave of popularity. It was reported by The Guardian that Suits was ‘America’s most-watched TV show of the summer’.

Suits is not new. It first aired between 2011 and 2019, however, amid the Duchess of Sussex’ controversial royal life, it isn’t surprising that her hit show was a success once added to Netflix.

The Guardian seems to agree with us but they also add that the show in itself is worth watching. They write:

It’s partly a slow TV summer, as streaming services have spaced out premieres to account for the joint writers’ and actors’ strikes. And it’s partly the show’s straightforward, magnetic appeal as one of the decade’s breeziest and most watchable corporate fantasies

Meghan Markle’s new pictures

Combining the renewed interest in Suits and the ongoing scrutiny the Duchess of Sussex is under, it was not surprising that the pictures Patrick J. Adams posted were going to go viral.

In 24 hours his two posts each gathered over 300,000 likes and over 2000 comments. A stark difference with Adams’ usual posts.

In the first picture, which shows the Duchess and her co-star Sarah Rafferty, people are calling for a reboot.

This show needs a reboot!!!! I miss the show !!!

We miss y’all too! We need a Suits movie! And Megan betta be in it too ya here! Lol

I miss all of you! Please do another season!!! Bring Rachel back too!

In the second post which is a carousel of pictures of the cast, the trend of positive and joyous comments continues.

I love that this is just a happy comments section with people who actually appreciate Meghan Markle for who she is rather than who the media present her to be 🙌

The resurgence of Suits has been awesome. I hope that after the strikes are resolved that @netflix will do an in-depth docuseries on Suits where the entire cast and crew (including Meghan Markle) are reunited to participate.

Such positive comments must be pleasant for Patrick J. Adamswho previously spoke out in defence of his former co-star when she was accused of ‘bullying’ by royal aides after her Oprah interview. In 2021 he said:

Meghan Markle and I spent the better part of a decade working together on Suits. From day one she was an enthusiastic, kind, cooperative, giving, joyful and supportive member of our television family. She remained that person and colleague as fame, prestige and power accrued.

She fell in love, moved to a new country, became a household name across the entire globe and began the difficult work of trying to find her place in a family dynamic that can at best be described as complicated and at worst, seemingly archaic and toxic

It’s OBSCENE that the Royal Family, who’s newest member is currently GROWING INSIDE OF HER, is promoting and amplifying accusations of 'bullying' against a woman who herself was basically forced to flea the UK in order protect her family and her own mental health.

IMO, this newest chapter and its timing is just another stunning example of the shamelessness of a institution that has outlived its relevance, is way overdrawn on credibility and apparently bankrupt of decency. Find someone else to admonish, berate and torment. My friend Meghan is way out of your league.
