As part of Meghan Markle's longstanding deal with Netflix, the Duchess recently released a new TV show entitled With Love, Meghan. However, her estranged family was quick to react to Meghan Markle's stories about her childhood. Indeed, her half-brother Thomas Markle Jr called her out for what he believes are 'malarkey stories', after the Duchess claimed she had a modest childhood. Meghan Markle's estranged father has also spoken out against his daughter's show.

Thomas Markle gives his review of With Love, Meghan
In the second episode of her Netflix show entitled With Love, Meghan, the Duchess talks about her love for jam-making. She explained the process of making apple butter reminds her of her beloved grandmother, and she is hoping the craft will become as important to her two children, Archie and Lilibet.
However, the sweet story has not gone down well with Meghan Markle's father, Thomas. Indeed, he claims that while his mother Doris 'adored' Meghan, she would be furious over her granddaughter's recent claims about her family. She recently explained she now goes by the name Sussex, instead of Markle. He told the Mail on Sunday:
My mum loved Meghan very much but she would be so disappointed to hear that Meghan no longer wants to use the name "Markle". My mother was proud to be a Markle. So am I. Meghan never had a problem with the Markle name until she met Prince Harry.
He also called out his daughter for her alleged lack of authenticity, as he said:
Unfortunately Meghan has never been authentic. She has to think about everything. She's not spontaneous. Everything she says is pre-planned and rehearsed. It makes me laugh because I know all her looks and expressions.
I know when she's faking it for the cameras. She's trying so hard to be perfect that she tenses up every time the camera is on her.
While he has some sharp opinions on the show, he did admit that he has not watch it completely and has only seen snippets online.
The show was generally met with mixed reviews, but Meghan Markle has made Netflix happy enough to renew it for a second season.

On Friday 7 March 2025, just days after the show premiered, Netflix announced a second series was in the works. According to the streaming platform's official statement, filming for the second series has already wrapped, and it is now in production. The lifestyle and cooking show, which is produced by the Duke and Duchess' Archewell Productions also serves as a launching pad for Meghan Markle's lifestyle brand called As Ever. It is the couple's second partnership with Netflix, as they released their Harry & Meghan documentary back in 2022. During the final episode, Meghan Markle explained what the show meant to her, saying:
This feels like a new chapter that I’m so excited that I get to share, and I’ve been able to learn from all of you. So just thank you for the love and support. And here we go. There’s a business!
