Meghan Markle shut down her lifestyle blog five years ago but the duchess may be relaunching it soon. Her blog was named Tig after her favourite wine Tignanello. Tig was shut down in April 2017 before she announced her engagement to Prince Harry. Meghan has now requested to have The Tig trademark reactivated, which is sure to please her followers.

Meghan believes that the blog began as a passion project that developed into a fantastic community of inspiration, support, fun, and silliness. According to public records obtained by The Mail in the United States, LA lawyer Marjorie Witter Norman submitted a new trademark application for the term in July last year.
Blogger returns
The blog was started in 2014 from her home in Canada while she was working as an actress on the courtroom show Suits. Meghan retired from acting and shuttered her blog and personal Instagram page around the time she joined the Royal Family. She previously explained the blog's moniker by recalling her first sip of Tignanello wine. She said,
It was an ah-ha moment at its finest. For me, it became a 'Tig' moment – a moment of getting it.
Although since standing down as senior Royals, Meghan and Harry have pursued new ventures such as collaborating with Netflix and conducting high-profile interviews. Hence, it may not be so surprising if her next commercial venture may be a return to blogging. Reportedly, the trademark registration was filed under the name Frim Fram Inc, a Delaware-based holding company linked to the Duchess' business manager Andrew Meyer. In 2019, a similar application was filed and her representative commented at the time:
The lasting trademark is to prevent false branding, to avoid others purporting to be the Duchess or affiliated with her.
Essential influencing
Meghan utilised The Tig to express her thoughts on feminism and philanthropy. Some of the preserved pages are still accessible via the internet. But she also talked about lighter subjects, such as the article titled ‘the birthday suit,’ in which she pretended to be naked while addressing body confidence. Her estranged mother Doria Ragland and father Thomas Markle were also featured on the blog.
The blog included recipes, travel pieces, beauty reviews, and interviews with pals like tennis star Serena Williams and actress Priyanka Chopra. According to a Hollywood marketing guru, relaunching Meghan's blog might earn her a fortune through paid collaborations with fashion, food, and beauty firms. Meghan is poised to create another multibillion-dollar firm to add to her £230 million capital.
