On 1 October, the couple delighted royal fans by announcing that they are expecting their second child together. Buckingham Palace released a statement confirming the exciting news, adding that King Charles III, Beatrice’s uncle, is ‘delighted’ by the announcement, reports Newsweek. The statement read:
Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their second child together in early spring; a sibling for Wolfie, aged eight, and Sienna, aged three.
His Majesty The King has been informed and both families are delighted with the news.
Beatrice and Edoardo are already parents to Sienna Elizabeth, 3, who has inherited a classic trait from her mother. Sarah, Beatrice’s mother, also took to her Instagram to share her happiness, reports People magazine. She posted a carousel of heartwarming photos and captioned it:
A very proud GiGi/Mum today. Such an incredible blessing and an embrace to my heart. Wolfie, August, Ernie and Sienna will be over the moon to have the fifth member of the five aside!
The pregnancy news comes just as their daughter Sienna celebrated her third birthday, reports Vanity Fair. Close friends of Beatrice have commented on how ‘naturally’ motherhood came to her. They described her as ‘extremely nurturing and involved’ in the lives of both her children.

She has spoken candidly about her experiences, especially about her dyslexia and how it affects her approach to motherhood. The 36-year-old has a unique family life within the royal circle, as she has embraced the role of stepmother to Edoardo’s son, Wolfie.
The princess has always been careful to include Wolfie in her family announcements, highlighting her dedication to her blended family. When Sienna was born, the couple expressed their excitement at introducing her to her big brother, whom the family lovingly refers to as Wolfie.
Beatrice opened up about the challenges and joys of parenting during the Covid-19 pandemic, specifically referencing her experience with homeschooling Wolfie. In an August 2021 interview with Hello! magazine, she humorously admitted:
Homeschooling, that was definitely not my forte! Not going to lie. Sadly, I can't blame that on dyslexia. But I've felt very lucky to have had the chance to work with my bonus son (Wolfie) over the course of the school closures. It was a huge learning curve for all of us.
Fans left confused by her post
While Beatrice has been very mindful of including Wolfie in the family, her latest post has got a few fans confused, as they were wondering why they said they were expecting their 'second child' together, and not third. Especially since both Wolfie and Sienna were mentioned in the post.

In response to the confusion, a fan pointed out that that Edoardo already had Wolfie before his marriage to the Princess and hence they are expecting their second child together.
