A large majority are disinterested
Another 15% said they were not 'very interested' in reading the bombshell book, meaning that in total, 82% of respondents who took part in the survey expressed little to no interest. Only a mere 3% of those who participated in the study answered being 'very interested' in the Duke of Sussex's memoir.
Even more telling, in a poll of 5,808 adults in the UK, about four in ten people agreed that Prince Harry's decision to publish the book was 'very inappropriate,' while 15% believe it to be 'fairly inappropriate.'
In a statement made following the announcement, Prince harry said about the book:
I'm writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become. I've worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively, and my hope is that in telling my story—the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned—I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think.
Severed ties
But although Prince Harry's self-proclaimed intentions are to provide a transparent account of his experience within the Royal Family, others believe the move is a major sign of disrespect. Some have even gone as far as to say that this should merit complete exclusion from the Royals. One source close to the family said:
I think everyone is just tired of being angry when it comes to those two.
And added:
They have spent the last 18 months doing everything they promised Her Majesty they wouldn't do—making a living off their previous lives and status as members of the Royal Family. It's depressingly predictable, unfortunately.
