Since becoming King, Charles has been doing a lot to keep his brother at bay. It is believed that he plans to cut Prince Andrew’s yearly allowance, he has kicked him out of Buckingham Palace and he can no longer use it to sign official documents.

King Charles also allegedly plans to kick Prince Andrew out of his current home, Royal Lodge, which he still shares with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson. However, this could be harder than the King anticipated.

Prince Andrew was supposed to move to Frogmore Cottage

After King Charles evicted Prince Harry and Meghan from Frogmore Cottage, it was thought that the keys would be given to Prince Andrew. The reason the Duke of York was supposed to move residence is the fact that King Charles reportedly plans to cut the money he gives to Prince Andrew, forcing him to move as he would seemingly no longer be able to afford to live at Royal Lodge.

However, SheKnows reports that Prince Andrew also cannot afford to live at Frogmore Cottage. Indeed the rent for Prince Harry’s former home is estimated to be £360,000 a year. So if King Charles has really cut down his brother’s yearly income, it seems he definitely won’t be able to live at Frogmore.

King Charles won’t benefit if Prince Andrew moves

Kicking the Duke of York out of Royal Lodge may not be the best thing King Charles could do. Indeed when Prince Andrew moved into Royal Lodge, he signed a 75-year lease. This means that if Prince Andrew were to be kicked out by King Charles, the latter would have to pay to end the lease.

Moreover, if Prince Andrew’s lease were to be terminated, The Crown, which owns Royal Lodge, would have to pay the Duke back for the money he spent on any repairs he did to the Royal household, which has strict rules that must be followed.
