King Charles’ coronation is less than a month away. Anticipation and pressure are mounting as the historic day gets closer. King Charles’ brother, Prince Andrew will be hit with a bombshell on the day of the coronation.

Indeed Channel 4 has decided to air the documentary about his downfall that began with an interview on the same day as his brother’s coronation. King Charles’ coronation will air on BBC.
Many are dubbing this documentary as an ‘alternative schedule’ of the coronation. The documentary will focus on the interview the Duke of York had with Newsnight back in 2019, which was the beginning of his downfall in the Royal Family.
Andrew - The Problem Prince will air on Channel 4
Channel 4, which has always been a slightly controversial channel, has announced its plans to air the bombshell documentary Andrew - The Problem Prince, on the same day as King Charles’ coronation.
The documentary will focus on the Duke of York’s interview with Newsnight, where he was questioned over his relationship with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. As reported by The Independent, the two-part series will also air archive footage, another interview with former Newsnight producer Sam McAlister as well as access to palace insiders.
According to Channel 4, their documentary ‘will provide an escape from the pomp and ceremony’ of the coronation.

Other controversial programs on coronation day
Channel 4’s documentary isn’t the only recent blow Prince Andrew has had to deal with in recent TV shows. Indeed Channel 4 released a musical on the disgraced Duke back in December 2022.
The TV channel released Prince Andrew The Musicalwhich was labelled as ‘tasteless’ by The Independent’s Louis Chilton.
In other controversial programs for the day of the coronation, Channel 4 will air Frankie Boyle’s Farewell To The Monarchy. The comedian will look back on the last 1,000 years with the Royal Family and will question whether the British Monarchy ‘has a place in today’s world.’
The Windsors will also air a coronation special on May 6. Channel 4 released the following statement concerning their programming for coronation day:
Channel 4 exists to provide viewers with an alternative, so as the nation is engulfed by pomp, circumstance and forelock-tugging, we’ll be offering a rather less reverential slate of programmes including Frankie Boyle’s case against the monarchy and The Windsors’ scabrous satirical take on the coronation.
