Kellie Bright, who plays Linda, was also excited about the presence of the royal family. She said:
I just thought wow, they’ve never done anything like this before. They didn’t really know what to expect, I mean it must have been nerve wracking for them and completely out of their norm. So I just hope they enjoyed it as much as we did!
Other appearances by the British Royal Family
However, this is not the first time the royal family has made a guest appearance on television. In 2001, the Queen visited soap queen Dame Barbara Windsor, who played Peggy Mitchell, on the set of EastEnders. Prince Charles also previously appeared on Coronation Street in 2000 to mark the 40th anniversary of the show.
