An ‘unethical’ donation acceptance

Reports from The Times have revealed that the Prince of Wales’ Charitable Fund (PWCF) accepted a donation from Osama Bin Laden’s family.

As reported by Sky News, Prince Charles had met with Osama Bin Laden’s half-brother, Bakr in London back in 2013. It is believed that the Prince of Walesagreed to accept a £1 million donation.

The Times report claims that multiple of Charles’ closest advisers warned him not to accept the donation, citing various sources.

Clarence House denies any wrongdoing

Clarence House - Prince Charles and Camilla’s official residence - has denied any wrongdoing and has said that protocol was followed with the donation.

Indeed as reported by the BBC, Sir Ian Cheshire, chairman of PWCF told The Times:

Due diligence was conducted, with information sought from a wide range of sources, including government.
The decision to accept the donation was taken wholly by the trustees. Any attempt to suggest otherwise is misleading and inaccurate.

Moreover, Clarence House has denied that Prince Charles was directly involved, telling Sky News:

The Prince of Wales' Charitable Fund has assured us that thorough due diligence was undertaken in accepting this donation.
