Prince Charles’ coronation

Prince Charles and Camilla will be crowned together when the time comes. The Queen has expressed her ‘sincere wish’ that Camilla is crowned Queen Consort. There hasn’t been a Queen Consort for quite some time now. Indeed it was the Queen’s mother who was the last Queen Consort. She was bestowed the title in 1937 when her husband became King George VI.

Many are of the opinion that Prince Charles and Camilla will favour a lower-scale coronation, only time will tell if this will be the case. However, if they do decide to go smaller, it will be drastically different from the Queen’s coronation in 1953—which was magnificent and one of the most spectacular coronations.

Who will be on the balcony after the coronation?

With all of the affairs going on within the royal family, one question arises concerning Prince Charles’ coronation: who will stand with him on the balcony?

As we all know, Prince Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior royals in 2020. This means that they are no longer active royals and do not take part in public events as royals. Furthermore, amidst the sexual abuse case against Prince Andrew, he has been stripped of his titles and patronages. This means that there are few senior royals left.

It is highly likely that only Prince William and Kate along with their three children will be standing next to Prince Charles on the balcony. It is unsure whether Prince Charles’ sister, Princess Anne will be allowed to stand on the balcony after the coronation.
