However, recently the Royal Family has taken a hit due to the ongoing health issue of several family members. Even PrinceEdward’s - who is the temporary leading man of the Royal Family - health was understood to have taken a hit last year.
Prince Edward’s Royal Navy uniform look praised by Royal fans
While it wasn’t officially revealed by the Royal Family that he was suffering from any health issues, many fans spotted that he was looking weaker than usual during some of his Royal engagements. The Royal then took a short break from his Royal duties earlier this year in February further sparking speculation that he may be going through some health issues as well.
But contrary to popular belief, he recently stepped out for a Royal engagement in Scotland wearing his Royal Navy uniform and Royal fans couldn’t stop talking about how good he looked. Impressed by his looks in the Royal Navy uniform, many fans took to social media and addressed that he appeared to be in much better health now than last year, reports The Express.
One user wrote on X:
Prince Edward looks really good nowadays.
Another two said:
He is looking much much better and seems to have regained some weight.
Good to see the DoE looking so well. I was worried about him last year.
Last year, after receiving the title of Duke of Edinburgh, when Prince Edward and Sophie stepped out for the first time on March 10, 2023, his public appearances left many Royal watchers pointing out that he looked very weak and had lost too much weight. Some even added that he seemed to have aged very quickly after losing both his parents in a span of a few years. As such, seeing the Prince looking healthy and happy in the Royal Navy uniform was a refreshing delight for Royal fans.
Why did Prince Edward wear his Royal Navy uniform?
According to the Royal Family website, the youngest child of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip spent three years in the Royal Marines as a University Cadet. However, he shortly left the armed forces to pursue a career in theatre production. The event that took place on Thursday, April 11 was for the official welcome of Scotland's first autonomous minehunting ‘mothership.’
The 6,000-tonne Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA) Stirling Castle is understood to ‘further safeguard the UK's minehunting capabilities.’ The vessel was formerly known as the MV Island Crown but it underwent conversion and became the mothership that was newly welcomed. Prince Edward was welcomed by the crew members and dignitaries as he boarded the ship with a salute before the dedication ceremony began.
