On 2 October, two royal experts spoke to two UK tabloids about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s relationship with the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.

This comes as a surprise as the two couples are not known to be close and as we’ve seen the Duchess of Edinburgh and the Princess of Wales being very close during public outings since King Charles ascended to the throne.
Moreover, the sources quoted by both OK! and Express bring up something that leaves us wondering…
Prince Harrydesperate to return to the UK
According to OK!’s royal expert, Mark Boardman, Prince Harry is missing his life in the UK. Boardman explains that Prince Harry ‘longs’ for his friends. It is true that since leaving the UK in 2020, the Sussexes have lost their residences in the Prince’s place of birth.
Boardman says:
Prince Harry’s social life has notably shifted over the past decade (...) He appears to have distanced himself from his college friends and lacks a permanent UK residence.
Mark Boardman adds that the Duchess of Sussex is frustrated with Prince Harry and wants him to leave the past behind. Boardman adds:
Meghan wants Harry to be by her side to support her, to look after the kids and to get his life back on track. And anything going backwards is going to take away from that.
Prince Harry reconnects with the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh
Still in OK!Mark Boardman continues with his revelations. According to him, the Sussexes have rekindled a relationship with a royal couple and it’s not the one you would think.
Boardman explains:
Meghan and Harry have reconnected with Sophie and Edward, and this renewed connection may serve as their gateway back into the royal household.
Another royal expert, Richard Fitzwilliams, has commented on the alleged ‘renewed connection’, this time talking to Express. He says:
There has been no evidence that Harry and Meghan and Edward and Sophie have specifically fallen out. Were the Sussexes to connect with them, they have, unlike Princess Eugenie, real influence, who knows what the result might be!
Challenging the royal experts
While Richard Fitzwilliams responds to the comments made by Mark Boardman in OK! and doesn't make claims, the latter needs to be challenged.
Indeed, in his statements he gave to the tabloid, Mark Boardman says:
Their recent interactions during the Invictus Games demonstrate the ongoing bond between Harry and Sophie, who has consistently been a confidante for him
The suggestion that Prince Harry and the Duchess of Edinburgh met at the 2023 Invictus Games is completely untrue. Moreover, the statements given by Boardman make it seem like he is close with the Sussexes, or at least with Prince Harry.
However, there is no evidence that the two have any kind of relationship.
