Prince Harry and his privacy breach
According to the Daily Express, Prince Harry alleged that his then-girlfriend was targeted by a private detective, Gavin Burrows, who also intercepted her parents’ voicemail messages. Reportedly, he dated a stockbroker’s daughter - whose grandfather used to play Polo with his grandfather Prince Philip at Eton.
Revealing the private information about his hidden affair, Prince Harry said in his statement:
This article is about a then-new relationship between me and [the woman], including details about her visiting me at Eton, meeting up in private at Windsor and efforts to keep the relationship secret.
According to Prince Harry, the Royal Family and their rule of ‘never complain, never explain’ was conditioned within him as well. The Duke also claimed that it wasn’t until his move out of the UK in 2020, he realised his rights. He said:
The institution was without a doubt withholding information from me for a long time about NGN's phone hacking.
That has only become clear in recent years as I have pursued my own claim with different legal advice and representation.

Prince Harry is a hypocrite
As the Prince fights for his privacy alongside the likes of Sir Elton John, Liz Hurley and Jodie Frost, he has been slammed by Royal fans and people for his hypocrisy. Many people believe that his action to sue a company for a privacy breach doesn’t make sense when he goes on and on about his personal life for commercial benefits. One wrote on Twitter:
How hypocritical for Prince Harry to sue a newspaper for ‘gross breaches of privacy’ when he just wrote a memoir where he disclosed private text message/conversations/situations with his family. Look in the mirror Harry 🙄 #Hypocrite
Another two added:
#HarryHypocrite suing for listening devices being used. How absolutely hypocritical, the biggest Traitor in the history of British Monarchy. Recording for Netflix is his main hobby.
But it’s ok for Harry to publish his family story #Hypocrites
And another chimed in:
Harry is a narcissistic liar and hypocrite
