The news ofPrince Harry dating Meghan Markle spread like wildfire in 2016 and has been a consistent subject of interest across the world. The couple met through a blind date which was facilitated by a mutual friend, reports The Independent.

How the Royal couple met
The Suits actress mentioned that she didn't exactly know who Prince Harry was, and she posed a question to the mutual friend asking 'well, is he nice?'
She further added:
So, we went and met for a drink, and then I think very quickly into that we said, ‘Well what are we doing tomorrow? We should meet again.’
According to Reuters, Harry and Markle made a trip to Botswana a few weeks after their first date and this is where their relationship transitioned to another level. Nearly a year later, the couple got officially engaged.
Prince Harry mentioned that:
'It was I think about three maybe four weeks later that I managed to persuade her to come and join me in Botswana and we camped out with each other under the stars. So then we were really by ourselves, which I think, which was crucial to me to make sure we had a chance to get to know each other.'
Stepping away from the center of attention
Harry and Markle are known to have taken a step back from the Royal Family, choosing to live their lives on their own accord. During ITV's Harry & Meghan: An African Journey, Harry noted that 'I will not be bullied into a game that was responsible for killing my mother' implying that the Royal lifestyle is what lead to the death of Princess Diana.
The couple now resides in California, and have made an appearance at the funeral of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.
