‘Two, maximum!’
Not long after the birth of his son, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, Prince Harry pledged that he and his wife, Meghan, weren’t planning on having a big family for environmental reasons.
In a special edition of British Vogue, Prince Harry interviewed Dr Jane Goodall about ‘the future of sustainability’. During the interview, the conversation turned to Prince Harry newly becoming a father. When the question of how many children arose, the Duke of Sussex replied:
Two, maximum! But I’ve always thought: this place is borrowed. And, surely, being as intelligent as we all are, or as evolved as we all are supposed to be, we should be able to leave something better behind for the next generation.
Some research claims that one way to fight climate change is to have fewer children. According to the science, as reported by The Guardian, having fewer children is more effective at combatting climate change than selling your car, avoiding flying, and going on a meat-free diet.
According to New Idea, Prince Harry was so adamant about having a small family that some palace insiders believedhe was having a dig at Prince William and Kate Middleton, who had not long welcomed Prince Louis to the fold.
A change of heart?
Twenty-year-old psychic Hannah Carroll believes Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will ‘have baby news’ this year. Talking about her predictions, she claims:
It's like a vision I get of something happening, like a really strong gut feeling.
The rumour mill seems to agree with the psychic's prediction. According to New Idea, a source close to the Sussexes claimed that since Prince Harry made the pledge,the pair have had a ‘change of heart’ and could be considering a third child.
They claim that the couple believes the positives of one more offspring ‘outweigh the risks to the climate’:
They (Prince Harry and Meghan) feel they can contribute more positively to the world by raising smart, informed children who will go on to be the same into adulthood.
The source claims that the Sussexes would start looking into IVF treatment after Lilibet’s first birthday.

Other rumours suggest that the couple are planning a third child to help heal the rift between them and the Royal Family, especially King Charles.
Per International Business Times, a source told Woman’s Day in November that:
If Meghan and Harry were to become parents again in that next nine months or so, their hope would be that the royal family, especially Charles who is a sucker for his grandkids, might forgive them.
