What is HRH status?
HRH stands for His or Her Royal Highness. According to New York Post, King George V declared that only the children of the ruling monarch and their male line grandchildren could benefit from the status.
Having HRH status gives access to a salary as a working royal and entitles the holder to official protection and security.
It also means people must bow or curtsy when the HRH approaches.
King Charles III, Queen Consort Camilla, Princess Anne, the Earl and Countess of Wessex, Prince William and Princess Kate and their three children, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie hold the HRH title.
Prince Andrew was stripped of his HRH status following the multimillion-dollar sex-trafficking lawsuit.
Princess Diana and Sarah, Duchess of York, were stripped of their titles when they divorced their husbands.
Archie and Lilibet's new titles
Archie and Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor are set to become Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, The Sun reports.
However, New York Post reports that King Charles III won't reveal their new titles during Queen Elizabeth II's mourning period.
According to The Sun, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are reportedly 'furious' that the title Prince and Princess do not come with HRH status.
According to a source, Prince Harry and Meghan are worried about 'the security issue'. They believe that being Prince and Princess allows them to benefit from royal security.
The couple reportedly pointed out that Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie both benefit from HRH status without being working royals.
Historian Rafe Heydel-Mankoo slammed the Duchess of Sussex for not understanding how royal titles work on GB News, according to Express.co.uk.
He also accused the couple of wanting to 'have their cake and eat it, too', stating:
They said they wanted to have their own lives in North America, and yet here they still want to benefit from the privileges that come with being a member of the Royal Family.
A spokesperson for the King refused to comment
