Prince Harry and Meghan Markle married on 19 May 2018 in a ceremony that broke with tradition. Since people found out that they were together, the couple has received a massive amount of media attention. This led to them 'stepping back’ from their role as senior royals in January 2020.

Since ‘stepping back’ the couple has continued to make headlines. They themselves shared a lot of details about their life as royals as they released a Netflix documentary, did an interview with Oprah Winfrey, Prince Harry wrote a book and they even had a podcast.
But there’s now a new detail that has been made public about an element in Meghan’s wedding dress that forces questions to be asked about their first date.
Meghan Markle’s something blue
It’s a very old tradition. Having something blue on you when you get married is supposed to ‘ward off the evil eye, and it also stands for love, purity, and fidelity.’
In the documentary Queen of the World (2018), Meghan is reunited with her wedding dress. She also shared some input on how the dress was made and added one interesting fact about something invisible she added to her dress.
In the documentary she says:
Somewhere in here, there's a piece... Did you see it? The piece of blue fabric that's stitched inside?
She also revealed what the host of the documentary qualifies as ‘the most romantic thing’ ever. Meghan Markle shares that the piece of blue fabric is from the ‘fabric from the dress that I wore on our first date.’
A lot of people commented on that addition saying that it is very sweet and Harper’s Bazaar writes that it ‘speaks volumes about how she feels about her husband.’

Were Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at the same date?
While the sweet detail she shared was very well received at the time, the Sussexes have now said a lot more about their relationship.
And saying more has apparently led to something not being quite right.
Indeed, while Meghan speaks of the blue dress she wore on their first date, Prince Harry’s book speaks of ‘a black sweater and jeans.’

The discrepancy could be explained by something The Daily Mail points out. While it is common knowledge that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were set up on a blind date by a mutual friend, it could be possible that Meghan did not consider their first meeting as a date. This theory is also supported by Prince Harry's own words when he describes their second date.
He writes:
she wore a pretty blue sundress with white pinstripes
