2024 marks the 10th anniversary of the creation of the multi-sport event, which will take place in the UK in May. Prince Harry will be attending as usual as the creator of the event, but Meghan Markle will not be joining her husband. However, it is believed that the Invictus Games is thinking about replace the Duke of Sussex with another Royal, as the games have become ‘too royal’.
The Invictus Games have become ‘too royal’
As reported by Express, Prince Harry’s former biographer Angela Levin believes that the Invictus Games are thinking about replacing the Duke of Sussex as the sporting event for wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women has become ‘too royal’.
According to Levin, Meghan Markle’s involvement in the event has become too much and takes away from the real cause. Levin adds that Markle led one of the marches at the event even though she didn’t know how to march and that Meghan delivered a lot of the speeches.
Angela Levin explained, as per Express:
It has become too royal. Much too royal. Meghan makes the speeches and she actually led a march with some of the ex-military people who were either physically, emotionally or psychologically damaged during their fighting.
Levin also added that the military people at the event were ‘very upset’ by Meghan’s involvement:
They were very upset. She knows nothing about how to march and she looked like she was at a dress show.
Levin went on to explain that with her speeches, Meghan takes away the idea to ‘allow these people to live another life’ compared to Prince Harry who would show those attending that ‘life is worth living’.
Now it’s all about Meghan and Harry follows behind.
Prince Harry could be replaced by Mike Tindall
As per LBC, Ms Levin believes that Prince Harry could be replaced by another Royal, Mike Tindall, who is married to Zara Tindall (maiden name Phillips), Princess Anne’s daughter.
Mike Tindall, a former England rugby union player, has been made patron of the Invictus Games. According to Levin, this could be a sign that the Invictus Games CEO are slowly easing Prince Harry out of the event.
Mike Tindall has been made a patron of the Invictus Games. I wonder if that is a way to ease Harry out. He has been very nice about Harry.
As per Express, despite the Invictus Games taking place in the UK, and the belief that Prince Harry is being ‘eased out’, there has been no confirmation whether other members of the Royal Family will be attending the annual sporting event.
Prince Harry will give the Thanksgiving speech at St Paul’s Cathedral on May 8, and it is believed the Duke of Sussex is staying in a hotel and not with family.
