Prince Harry's former hairdresser urges him to follow Prince William’s footsteps on hair loss: 'Let it go'

Prince Harry is often in the limelight for various reasons. The latest, however, is due to his hair loss over the years, with his former hairdresser urging him to do something about it.

ROYALS THEN VS. NOW

As a royal, Prince Harry has been making headlines for many different reasons over the years. A majority of the headlines focus on his relationship with his wife, Meghan Markle, his visa status, or his strained relationship with the Royal Family.

However, more recently, the Duke of Sussex has been talked about due to his hair, much like Barron Trump at Donald Trump’s inauguration. Indeed, as Prince Harry is getting older, he is gradually losing his hair, as many men do.

Despite this natural course of life, the Prince’s former hairdresser is urging him to do something about the hair loss.

Prince Harry’s former hairdresser comments on his hair

As reported by The Sun, Sam McKnight MBE worked for Princess Diana. On February 11, the hairdresser took to Instagram to analyse the Duke of Sussex’s hairline. In his post, Sam didn’t hold back on the criticism.

McKnight talked about how Prince Harry and his brother, Prince William, both had ‘the most magnificent, thick, healthy crowning glories’ like their mother when they were younger. However, as they both got older, their hair became ‘a mere wisp’.

As a result, Princess Diana’s former hairdresser has suggested that Prince Harry shave his head, just like the Prince of Wales has done recently.

All is not lost, however; a good short clip at the barbers (like your big brother has done recently) would look sharp and clean, and take years off that handsome face.

Sam also suggested that, given Prince Harry’s age, a transplant would be a good option and would offer a ‘more natural’ look.

If I were your age, I’d go for a transplant – so much more natural these days, unlike the plug plants of yore.

He concluded his post with a joke saying:

Harry, from one baldy to another, it’s time. As they say in Disneyland, “Let It Go”.

When did Prince Harry’s hair start thinning?

As mentioned above, hair loss in older men is completely natural, and like many aspects of the human body, it varies depending on the person. Some men lose their hair young, while others still have a full head of hair in their 90s.

Over the years, the Duke of Sussex has tried various hairstyles like most people. When he was at Eton, he shaved off his hair and recalled the memory in his memoir:

Someone suggested that my hair was a complete disaster. Like grass on the moors… Someone fetched the clippers. Someone pushed me into a chair. How quickly, how blithely, after a lifetime of healthy growth, it all went cascading off my head.

However, Prince Harry didn’t like his new look and reportedly ‘screamed in horror’. Following the shave, Prince Harry only played around with the style and not so much the length.

According to Harley Street Hair Clinic, Prince Harry started losing his hair in 2009, when he was 25. At that point, the hair loss was hardly noticeable. By 2016, the Duke’s receding hairline was more noticeable and every year he seems to be losing his hair gradually.

Recently, there have been whispers that he got a hair transplant, as some photos of the Duke gave the impression of a fuller head of hair. However, it was never confirmed.

Moreover, given all the comments over his thinning hair in the recent photos from the Invictus Games, it seems like the whispers may not hold much truth.
