Prince Harry's visa row in the spotlight again as Donald Trump wins the elections

A Washington think tank demanded that Prince Harry’s visa application be made public due to his drug use. Donald Trump has also previously commented on the situation.

Prince Harry has been dealing with calls to have his visa application made public after he admitted to using drugs in his bombshell memoir, Spare. The Prince revealed he had used cocaine, marijuana, and psychedelic mushrooms.

A Washington think tank, The Heritage Foundation, requested the Duke’s application be made public as they believe he was treated differently than a regular citizen. Indeed, drug usage can be grounds to deny a person a visa.

During his presidential campaign, Donald Trump touched on the issue concerning Prince Harry’s visa application and said that he would take ‘appropriate action’. Now that it has been announced that Trump will be the next President of the United States, reports have speculated that the news may have put Prince Harry and Meghan at the edge of their seats.

Prince Harry’s visa could be in jeopardy

As mentioned above, The Heritage Foundation questioned Prince Harry’s visa application in court, however, as per The Independent, a judge ruled that his visa application should remain private as ‘the public does not have a strong interest in disclosure of the duke’s immigration records’.

Nonetheless, Donald Trump, who was declared as the winner in the presidential election by Associated Press, could decide to investigate the Prince’s visa himself. He previously told Daily Express US that he ‘wouldn’t protect him’ after what he had done to Queen Elizabeth when he stepped down as a working royal in 2020.

I wouldn’t protect him. He betrayed the Queen. That’s unforgivable. He would be on his own if it was down to me.

Royal expert Phil Dampier told The Sun in October 2024 that Prince Harry could be in trouble if Donald Trump wins the election as he is ‘very much anti them’.

Basically I think they're trying to keep this going because we've got the US Election coming up in just a couple of weeks time and of course, if Donald trump gets back in that could be bad news for Harry and Meghan, because he is very much anti them.
I think that's fairly well documented that they don't like him, and he doesn't particularly like them.

That being said, Trump's son Eric, has made some recent comments that may provide the royals with some relief.

Eric Trump hits out against Prince Harry

In an interview with Daily Mail - the same interview where he gave Barron dating advice - Eric Trump talks about Prince Harry and how he believes that the Duke’s visa isn’t in jeopardy as ‘no one cares’ about him or his ‘unpopular’ wife, Meghan.

Truthfully I don't give a damn about Prince Harry and I don't think this country does either.
I don’t give a damn if he did drugs. It means nothing.

He then talks about how his father ‘loved the Queen’ and that he believes that ‘the monarchy is an incredibly beautiful thing’. He then reminisced about the time Trump met Queen Elizabeth and how she welcomed him with ‘open arms’.

My father loved the Queen and I think the monarchy is an incredibly beautiful thing. The late Queen was amazing. The way she welcomed my father with open arms was, like, beyond.
I can tell you that our father and our entire family has tremendous respect for the monarchy.

He also revealed that Trump thinks well of King Charles and that while going through family photos, he found a photo of then-Prince Charles and Donald Trump at the latter’s Mar-a-Lago residence.

We’ve known the King forever. In fact, I was just digging through a photo album not too long ago and I came across a picture of him with my father, I’m six years old in the lobby of Mar-a-Lago.
